Building and playing drums for over 50 years...
I have been restoring and building drums since I received my first Stewart drum kit in 1967 (I was 14 years old). I rewrapped those drums in 'MacTac" a poor quality plastic shelving material, but all I could find in those days.
The drum building industry has come a very long way, and now there's almost nothing stopping a drummer from designing any drum imaginable.
I specialize in restoring vintage American drums (Ludwig, Gretsch, Slingerland and Rogers), as well as build my own custom line. My shells are Keller all-maple shells imported from their factory in New Hampshire, and the hardware consists of any type available that the customer desires; from brass and gold tube lug to new Gretsch style, and anything in-between.
I can cover the shells with plastic Delmar wrap from Precisiondrum out of New York, or finish them in a hardwood veneer consisting of walnut, cherry, mahogany and bubinga, plus any other specified by the customer.
Celtic Pride is a one-man operation and I take pride in building beautiful one-of-kind instruments with slow, precise care and quality.
I welcome you to my website and I will be happy to receive your questions and comments.
